Just Another Day in Paradise

WOOHOO!!!

I was thrilled to see three of my layouts in the latest Scrapbooking Memories Magazine. Only knew of one that was to  be in Vol 8 No 10, so that was a nice surprise! Congratulations also to Bev, Chrissy and Debbie Y from Aussie who all had layouts in there as well.

Zazi will be thrilled, she's been waiting for this one to be in the magazine. She loves to take them in for show-and-tell but she tells me that it would be even better if it was one of her own layouts. Well, she better finish one of them, lol. I'm afraid she takes after her mother and tends to start on a new one before she finishes anything. *sigh*

I was really disappointed with the colours of this one in the magazine. It looked so washed out. I did this page quite a while ago before Mali was even born. Time for an updated version I think. Mali looks so cute on a trike. I really love the quote  by Albert Einstein on this one:

Life is like riding a bicycle, to keep balance you must keep moving.

So true, don't you think, with everything in life. I would have loved to have met Albert 'in real life' as Rani would say.

SHAVE FOR A CURE 2007

This is my godson Alex who shaved his hair for a cure on his 10th birthday. Alex raised over a thousand dollars. What a tremendous effort! We are so proud of you, Alex. You rock!!!

As you can see there were some very interesting hairdos at the party. Alex's thick hair took quite a bit to cut and then shave off. And check out the birthday boy. Doesn't he look so handsome even without any hair!? Mali was quite fascinated by all the different interesting hair styles and colours and ended up with multi-coloured hands. The kids really had a ball and loved all the party games and the yummy food. The treasure hunt was a huge success, too. Hopefully everybody learnt the importance of reading the instructions!

The kids and Trea all got right into the latest Canadian dance rage.  Hmmmh! Check them all out with their bums in the air, tongues hanging out. As I said they loved it, lol!

LUNCH WITH THE AUSSIE GIRLS

I can't believe that it has been a week since I went down to Brisbane for the Paper Arts Festival. It was a fun trip down on the bus with some girls from Scrap'n'Patch. What made it even more exciting was that I won two prizes, Ngaire Bartlam's "It's All About You" book which I've had my eyes on for ages and a punch which Zazi has claimed. Thanks girls, what fantastic prizes.

I did lots of shopping but the highlight was definitely finally meeting up with some of the Aussie girls. It was so lovely meeting up with you all, I just wish I hadn't had to rush off to do Zina's class. Thanks to the gorgeous Conor who took the group photo. What a lovely young man you've got there, Cassie. You should be so proud. And doesn't Michelle's hump look so precious. Made me feel very clucky. Loved chatting with the gorgeous Chrissy. Maybe I'll make it to Kiwiscraps with you next year.

Haven't even  looked at the album I started in Zina's class. Life's way too busy at the moment. I've nearly finished with the EDM album I've been working on for the last few months. I can't wait to send it off on Tuesday and to just scrap for scrapping's sake and try some of these yummy new products that seem to be piling up .

We went to the Toowoomba Grammar School Art Show last night. Had an absolute ball and wait for it, bought 4 paintings! Yeah! A series of three dragonfly canvases, I loved them all so much I just couldn't decide, and a really quircky watercolour one titled "Henrietta"  by Antje Collis of a chook in ballet shoes. So love it, just had to buy it! Can't wait to pick them up tomorrow night.

Ballerina Aspirations

Well, here's our little ballerina. We managed to get her hair into a sort-of-a-bun with lots of pins and hair gel. She was very pleased with the end results even though "I" shouldn't have cut her hair so short! Go figure!

BRISBANE PAPER CRAFTS FESTIVAL 2007

Woohoo! I'm going to Paper Crafts on Saturday!!!

I'm so excited - I've never been to anything scrapbooking-related and I just can't wait. I'm doing Zina's Little Book of Love from 2-5 pm. Anyone else out there doing the same workshop? Please let me know if you are going to be there on Saturday. I really would love to catch up with you all.

WHAT NOT TO DO WITH SCISSORS

Two weeks ago DD Rani 3 decided that she needed a hair cut. She chopped off all her beautiful hair on one side some right down to the scalp. I cried when I had to cut off the other side to make it sort of even. She cried, Zazi cried. We were all so sad and devasted and Rani with that angelic look on her face told me that that was it, she'd never do it again. Well, that promise didn't last. She didn't cut her hair but Mali's this time. I still feel sick thinking about what could have happened. Luckily it was only hair not an eye or an ear. Anybody wanting a three year old?
